Last Monday (June 11, 2018) was my first day at the Internship. I have to admit I was worried of a lot of things. My English is really far from perfect, my brother took the internship a couple of years ago and he sometimes visits his friends here in Richmond, so all of the staff members know him, which happens to be absolutely cooler than me, so he set high expectations for me, and of course I had the nerves of getting to know all of these people that were amazing or so I was told.
As it was the first day, after devotions, we had an introductio with an orientation of a person of each area within Hillside, and afterward we all went for lunch at Terrance. Then we finished our orientation and just hung out a little bit in the office. At night all current and past staff members, the interns, and some friends were invited to Kris’ house (Hillside’s director) for dinner because he just loves to cook and spend time with friends. And I had a really good time getting to know everyone.
Throughout the whole day I found out they are all a big family, they all know each other and some of them know each other for a very long time. I can’t wait to get to know them deeper. Meanwhile, I just know I have a lot of homework to do, and a lot of the Bible to learn.
It sounds promising.
